For pre-undergraduates, we provide courses in four disciplines, software engineering, animation design, computer application and technology, and network engineering. We have 16 foundation laboratories, 2 technology activity bases for students, and a professional reference room.
We have made outstanding achievements in the Quality Project and Discipline Construction. In 2006 and 2007, both Basics of Computer Applications and Multi-Media Technology and Application were awarded as the Provincial Top-Quality Courses. In 2008 and 2009, Computer Science and Technology were awarded as the provincial, as well as the national, characteristic disciplines. In 2009, the faculty of computer foundation courses was awarded as the Provincial Teaching Team, having successfully applied for National Natural Science Foundation Programs, Ministry of Education Computer Resources Data Construction Programs, The Eleventh Five-Year National Planned Teaching Materials, Henan Significant Technology Programs, Henan Natural Science Foundation Programs, University-Enterprise Cooperation Programs, Prefecture Level Sponsored Programs, as well as some crosswise projects as many as 71, among which 62 projects have been completed or rated as good, 5 gained national patents. 825 academic papers have been published abroad and at home, among which there were 317 articles published in core journals, and 87 covered by SCI, EI, or ISTP.
